Old folks home volunteer
In early 2023, my class visited an old folks' home for our VIA project. We entertained the elderly by organizing performances and setting up various station games. A few of us served as station masters, while the rest guided the elderly around to participate in the games we had prepared for them.
I was fortunate to be paired with a lovely lady who shared stories about her children and grandchildren. She even recounted her experiences during the war, which I found incredibly fascinating. At the end of the day, she expressed her gratitude for the activity and told me how much our visit had uplifted her spirits. She had been feeling down over the past few days, and interacting with us brought her immense joy.
Her words truly touched my heart and have inspired me to continue giving back to society.
