My computing journey
When I was in Primary 3, I eagerly joined my school's Infocomm Club, which turned out to be a pivotal decision. It was there that I embarked on a journey of exploration and learning. Among my accomplishments was creating a memorable game, "Multigames," which still resides on my phone, serving as a nostalgic reminder. Additionally, I learnt about videography and photography, discovering a passion that would shape my future endeavours.
The Infocomm Club opened my eyes to the world of technology, prompting my parents to enrol me in an R2D2 class during my Primary 5 year, where I learnt more about robotics, particularly Arduino programming. This experience solidified my interest in computing, compelling me to chart a path towards its pursuit in the future. Consequently, I decided to join the Direct School Admission (DSA) into Bukit View Secondary School during my Primary 6 year, a choice that would significantly influence my academic journey.
Upon entering Secondary School, I actively engaged in various courses and competitions. Through these experiences, I not only expanded my coding proficiency but also taught me how to work in teams better. While the victory wasn't always guaranteed, each competition served as a platform for personal growth, and instilling leadership qualities as I led teams through challenging endeavours.
By Secondary 3, I had the privilege of having the role of President within my school's Infocomm club. Despite having limited prior leadership experience, I embraced the responsibilities with determination. Organizing events such as farewells for seniors, secondary 1 CCA awareness, and open houses provided invaluable personal and collective growth opportunities, solidifying my confidence in leadership capacities.
I opted to undertake computing as an O-level subject, recognizing its potential to benefit my academic grades and help in my future career. With a promising performance thus far, I would love to continue this journey into Junior College.
